I agree Prabowo Subianto, family, and team, are all quite happy to play the religious game, pretend they are pious, quite happy to fund social unrest in the belief they will win, and more dangerously, believe they can control it. I doubt it, and would they even care? It is a matter of power and ego - it is not as if they need the money. With the rise of "successful Muslim" business identities, and their willingness (or "obligation") to fund the political needs of others, once almost the exclusive domain of privileged Christian associates of the Soeharto family, I suggest secularism and tolerance are not words to describe Indonesia, certainly in the recent decade. There is the facade, and there is what people will actually do if pushed. They will always revert to the easy out religious line in the absence of enforceable law. What choice do they have? None!
